The lake is fishing great. Way better than the last two springs so far. Let’s see if it holds out. The fish are really spread out. The water at the hatchery is not running and there is no reason for the fish to pile up at the Nets beaches. The good news is you can catch fish in places that are not crowded. Stripping Northern Lights Tadpoles and Midnight Cowboy Wooly’s have been doing really well. Dark colors certainly have been the best. For the Indicator bite, Maholo Jig Nymphs in size 8-12 are awesome on choppy days and midges such as the Copper Wino and the Red Wine when it is a little calmer.

The weather is heating up fast starting next week. Look for conditions to continue to change with cloud cover, wind and sunny days mixed in. As the water warms and the fish head into a deeper spawn mode the fishing will slow down for a while. Then our favorite time of year happens again at the lake when the June bite starts. Get out there and fish!
